Can you make beer yourself? Do you know how to keep it aromatic and clear? First, you have to be patient. Beer production consists of different stages, so it is worth taking care of the right equipment. The caption will be different from the shop and will pleasantly surprise our guests. In order to make your task easier, we will present two ways of brewing beer:
Mashing process (more demanding) from raw materials requiring processing.
Brew-kit (easier) from ready-made semi-finished products.
What do we need to produce beer by mashing?
Instead of betting on quantity, bet on quality. Get a 20-30-litre pot in which you can boil water up to 70-80°C - just use a thermometer to be sure. In addition, two buckets: one without a lid and the other with a lid, the other with a lid, a sugar meter, a filter. You'll need bottles and a capsule. Remember to keep all equipment sterile or beer may break down.
It's time for the ingredients, so what do we choose from the shelves?
The ingredients must be added in the correct order, proportion and time. It will take you about half a day to brew the beer, but the best of it - you have to wait a bit, because fermentation lasts from 4 to 6 weeks. Purchase malt (best shot), hops - granulated or powdered, choose the taste according to your taste. Brewer's yeast will also be useful, thanks to which the sugars will be better distributed. Since we've already mentioned sugars, it's important to take glucose or malt extract. Time to act!
The mashing method, sometimes it is better to try a little harder to achieve a better effect.
We're blurring:
Heat the water and add malt (1kg of shot-blasted malt per 3 liters of water), stir with a spoon,
bring it to a suitable temperature (usually 65°C), which you can check with a thermometer,
at this temperature, we keep the mash for an hour.
To see if the mashing process is complete, take a mash sample on a white plate and sprinkle with Lugol liquid, the fluid obtained has not changed colour? We move on to the next stage!
By filtration we want to achieve a wort:
we separate the residual grain from the solution,
Do it with a bucket with a faucet, into which you pour the contents of the pot, waiting for the grains to settle on the bottom,
using a tube, we check whether the beer becomes clear.
Cool and weigh, start time!
boil the wort for an hour and add 1-3 doses of hops during the cooking process,
after finishing cooking, quickly cool to 20°C, from now on the wort must be covered.
We add yeast to our potion:
pour the cooled buzzer into a bucket using a tube to separate the rest of the hops (take the beer from above, leaving about 2 l at the bottom - it is too cloudy),
on the surface of the beer we spread brewer's yeast,
we don't mix.
We start the longest process - fermentation:
after a few hours from the yeast task, fermentation will begin (you will notice a strong foaming during the process, it lasts even up to a week),
the fermenter must be slightly covered,
Using a sugar meter, we will check whether the stormy fermentation is complete,
we're dragging the beer back into another bucket. Then quiet fermentation takes place, which is best carried out from 2-2.5 weeks.
Secondary fermentation and bottling
Now pour the beer into a bucket of faucet and add the glucose. Then we achieve refermentation,
pour the contents of the bucket into the bottles and cap it.
Now our bottles must be left to rest for 3-4 weeks in a cool and dark place. After that time, all we have to do is taste it.
If you prefer a simpler way, we suggest making beer from brewkita
we use brewkit, which is a ready-made wort (malt extract with the addition of hops),
You will find such a semi-finished product in the can together with the brewing instruction and the yeast sachet.
But remember, no matter which way you use it, the most important thing is patience. Independent brewing gives you great satisfaction!
